LEMBAGA MUSYAWARAH ADAT SUKU AMUNGME (LEMASA)

We the undersigned and duly elected members of the LEMASA Board of Directors-Regents with full authority vested in us in accordance with the LEMASA Convention/Charter declare on behalf of LEMASA and the Amungme people that we unconditionally and absolutely reject PT Freeport Indonesia's "Settlement Agreement", captioned "Perjanjian Penguakuan Tambahan Rekognisi Sukarela" and also referred to as the "Freeport 1% Trust Fund Offer".

We resolve and declare that the actions of Andreas Anggaibak in signing the attached letter dated 26 May 1996 and captioned "SALAM DEJAHTERA BAGI KITA SEMUA", was done without the authority of the LEMASA BOARD OF DIRECTORS - REGENTS and does not reflect the position, beliefs or in any way bind LEMASA or the Amungme people.

We resolve and declare that Andreas Anggaibak has never had and will never have authority from the LEMASA Board of Directors - Regents or the Amungme people to accept the PT Freeport Indonesia "Settlement Agreement", (Perjanjian Penguakuan Tambahan Rekognisi Sukarela). If Andreas Anggaibak has already signed such a "Settlement Agreement" or signs one in the future his actions are done for himself alone.

Finally, we the LEMASA Board of Directors - Regents formally resolve and declare that with the help of God we shall never succumb to the offer of bribes, intimidation or dishonestly induced into accepting PT Freeport Indonesia's "Settlement Agreement", (Perjanjian Penguakuan Tambahan Rekognisi Sukarela).

Thus read in Bahasa Indonesia and English and signed this 29th day of June 1996 in Timika, Irian Jaya (West Papua), Indonesia.
